Answer

Great news, dogs can eat carrots. Just like humans, carrots have the same sort of benefits although your dog will generally eat them in smaller quantities but they are still good for general health as part of a balanced diet.

In fact you may be interested to know that dogs can eat all of the carrot including the green leafs. Later on we have a few recipes and the leafs will not not be used but it is possible to feed them raw.

Large frozen carrots make cheap and edible chew toys for your dog. There is contrasting information whether carrots are beneficial for a dog's dental health, I have seen some sites say yes and others no – if they are beneficial then take that as a bonus but do not use that as the primary reason to give your dogs carrots but they may be beneficial for a very young puppy who is teething

Carrots are a favorite snack for a lot of dogs, they can be enjoyed raw as an alternative to meat chews. For your dog to get the nutrients in the carrot, though, it is best to steam, cook, or purée the carrot to unleash the wide range of vitamins, such as vitamin A , B6 and K. They also contain many minerals – you can see the nutritional info below.

Advice

Once again you should your vet and ask for advice in how many carrots you should feed your dog per day as it will vary depending on the dog you have, and ask if there are any other health concerns associated with adding carrots to your dog’s diet.

Carrots contain sugars, this is why humans like carrots – this obviously mean sthat eating a lot of carrots could lead to weight loss. This is more likely to occur depending on what eles your dog eats, the amount of carrots you should give your dog should not make any difference.

You should cut whole carrots and even carrot sticks into smaller, bite-size chunks before feeding them to your dog. As a result, you will reduce the risk of choking, this is especially true in smaller dogs.
